Hello everyone! I'm Des in Scotland (from England) and interested in all things futures and foresight.
I currently work for Scottish Enterprise (https://www.scottish-enterprise.com/) which is Scotland's national economic development agency and the largest in the UK. I work on creating Scotland's future health & care economy. I Hold masters degrees in Physics and History and am an avid reader of "classic" pre-1980s science fiction. I'm interested in sharing and collaborating on almost any subject. I have a professional interest in doing so on issues relating to health & care, and a professional interest in doing so related to everything else! Look forward to connecting!
Welcome everyone!
Please introduce yourself so that the community gets to know you better :)
Who are you, what do you do and where are you from? What kind of projects are you currently working on?
Hello everyone,
I'm a Prague-based researcher at the non-profit organisation Czech priorities (České priority). Last year, we delivered a foresight study to the Czech government. Results in english language can be accessed from the website of the Czech Government Office: https://www.vyzkum.cz/FrontClanek.aspx?idsekce=962481
We are also currently setting up a new foresight project with the aim to embed foresight into decision making at the government level. For that, we decided to take a step back and assess their needs in order to tailor our approach and achieve more impact.
Does anyone here have any experience with carrying out such a needs assessment for foresight? It would help us a lot to learn from your experiences. In case you'd be interested to discuss that matter, don't hesitate to contact me through this platform or at alex@ceskepriority.cz.
We're glad to be part of this community and looking forward to hearing from you.
Alexandre

Hello, I am Kerstin Cuhls, Foresighter at the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research in Karlsruhe, Germany, already there for a long time. I am convinced that we need the long-term view to understand the present, our different opportunities and alternatives, and then to decide on a better informed way or create a "more desirable" future. I am also teaching combinations with Foresight at the University of Heidelberg (East Asian Studies, especially Japanese Studies), methods at the Free University of Berlin (Master Studies Futures Research) or at the BAKS (Bundesakademie für Sicherheitspolitik). There is still a lot to learn, to talk about and to do.

Ciao everybody, I am Erica from the Netherlands. I call myself a conscious future designer. I like to investigate and design for sustainable futures.
At the moment I work for the foresight unit of the Joint Research Centre (European Commission), where we work on futures related projects.
I also have a personal passion to promote futures literacy as a skill for young people and education. As young people go to school to prepare for the future, why is it they learn mostly about the past and the present and not really about the future. Of course the future doesn't exist, so you can't tell what is coming, but you can learn the skills to better prepare for the future. ✨
Hi, my name is Jana and I am from Potsdam (near Berlin). I've been working as a futurist at 4strat for over four years.
My area of expertise is in research and thinking outside the box. I love movies, especially science fiction. I also wrote my master thesis about science fiction. I always try to have a realistic-positive worldview, even if external circumstances don't always facilitate.
My main job on this platform is to post with Weak Signals.
I hope there will be exciting discussions on this platform.
