In particular, I see the urban area as a major contributor to sustainability and health, given the profound urbanisation. We are facing a wide range of issues such as mobility and food. So how we organise our urban areas has a bigger impact. I hope that the city of the future is a place where there is no car (at least as we know it now), but where smaller city centres are connected. The 15 minutes city in its optimal form: reach everything you need in at least 15 minutes. But also many green, small urban parks, places to grow food yourself/together. By shaping the city of the future, people feel connected. With each other and their surroundings. Our environment is shaped in such a way that people experience ownership, creating other cost and benefit structures as well. It also aims to make the population healthier. Healthy outdoor air (including in cities due to low or zero emissions), many walking and cycling, and social cohesion. In my ideal city, the community is strong and people are part of strong networks.
