Suzanne Whitby

I am an interdisciplinary researcher at VU Amsterdam, working on how we can use immersive stories of the future to build an awareness of agency and encourage individual and community action. I am particularly interested in bottom-up, citizen-focused initiatives, usually in urban spaces.

I run a futures & facilitation consultancy, Futures Fit , where I work with a variety of groups around mapping, horizon scanning, creating and exploring scenarios, and using the future for strategic thinking and planning. I also run Ways to Walk, where I co mbine walking, multi-sensory experiences, and, often, stories of possible futures, in my work to encourage systems change from the ground up.
