Research develops Embodied Design as an approach to Interaction Design, focusing on interactions with computational and pervasive technologies and the relationships among the somatic body, cognition, technologies, and environments. Drawing on embodied cognition, cognitive ergonomics and somaesthetics, investigations examine how embodied experience can inform the design of technology-mediated interaction. Work spans digital and computational contexts, including accessibility, inclusive design, health and wellbeing, and explores embodied approaches to interaction and experience design.
