    Prof. Dr. Siegfried Saerberg

Professor of Disability Studies and Participation Research | Artist and Curator in Disability Arts | Activist in the Disability Rights Movement

Siegfried is a futures researcher. He was Professor of Disability Studies at the Hamburg Protestant University of Applied Sciences for Social and Community Work and is now a Senior Fellow at the University of Münster in the Käte Hamburger Kolleg (KFG) entitled “Access to Cultural Goods in Digital Change.” With a background in Disability Studies and the cultural and social sciences, he explores the societal impacts of emerging technologies and questions of empowerment and justice concerning disabled communities and disabled people—particularly within artistic and cultural systems, but also more broadly in relation to human rights, human well-being, and just and healthy futures. His work connects the arts with transformative and sustainable perspectives on social cohesion as well as social conflicts, blending activist exploration with artistic and scientific research to address future risks and to anticipate inclusive, plural, and sustainable futures, as well as social transformation through utopian imagination.
